SUMMARY OF SPECIFICATIONS:
The City of Royal Oak is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) to obtain a contract to provide special event parking. Specifically for the Arts, Beats and Eats Festival (ABE) held Labor Day weekend August 31- September 3, 2012. The Festival draws over 300,000 people to the downtown area. The city controls a number of private and public parking lots for the event. Traditional parking lots are converted to pay on entry parking lots for the event. The funding from the parking is used to offset the costs of city services to support the event. The first two years of the event, a combination of volunteers and professional parking staff has been used to manage parking for the event. The City of Royal Oak’s goal in offering special event parking is the safe and effective management of traffic and parking during the event.
